Meet: Alana

Ohio Women’s Alliance Action Fund is thrilled, honored and PROUD to announce our new Deputy Director, Alana Belle! Alana is an advocate from Cleveland, Ohio, whose work is dedicated to removing barriers to wellness for girls, women, and femmes with an emphasis on Black women. She has been involved in many social movements: economic justice, environmental justice, racial justice, and gender and sexuality equity. Ultimately she found a home in Reproductive Justice due to her multifaceted experiences and values. “RJ is a framework that encompasses every facet of our wellness,” says Alana. “The same way we need to eradicate racism, we all need to end gender-based violence, we also need to end the stigma around mental health, we also need to end food insecurity, we need to address homelessness,” she shares, “and Reproductive Justice is the only space I know of that has all of these [issues] built into the core values.”
