Colleen Damerell
Member assistance Program manager (She/her)
Colleen Damerell (she/her) grew up in western New York but now calls Cleveland's east side home. Grounded in many years as an abortion worker at Preterm, she believes that abortion is sacred, necessary, lifesaving, and powerful. Colleen was part of the team that organized the Preterm Union, the first union at an independent abortion clinic in the United States. She currently serves on the board of the Northeast Ohio Worker Center, which is dedicated to building power with workers to fight against exploitation and unfair labor practices. Combining her passions for abortion access and the labor movement, Colleen has written about the intersections of reproductive justice, economic justice, and nonprofit work for Mic and Rewire News. She is an alumnus of Kenyon College and a proud grad school drop-out. In her spare time, Colleen can be found baking bread, cultivating native wildflowers, reading contemporary fiction, running, funding abortions, and (most importantly) spoiling her cat, dog, and nieces.
