Welcome: Mary Ellen Madden
Meet our new Director of Communications, Mary Ellen Madden!
Mary Ellen has over ten years of communications experience in the nonprofit sector and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from John Carroll University before completing a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
She spent ten years in Chicago doing advocacy work that was rooted in anti-racism; environmental justice; LGBTQ+ equity; and rights for women, immigrants, and workers.
Mary Ellen currently resides in Cleveland where she serves on the board for the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless. She is thrilled to be joining the OWA team, and she looks forward to telling the story of this important work to raise awareness and invite support for critical justice issues within her home state.
