Join OWA AF to Protect Abortion in Ohio

As the Supreme Court prepares to release their opinion on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, we know what is to come and Ohio Women’s Alliance Action Fund is ready. 

Although this is a time to acknowledge the hurt, trauma, and anger we feel, we must remain active and in solidarity with the folks who are most directly impacted. As an organization created and led by women of color, here are the three things we’re advising our members and supporters:

  1. Remember that abortion is still legal in Ohio.

  2. We can protect abortion access in Ohio by electing a pro-choice majority to the Ohio Supreme Court. Sign up to learn more about ways you can work with OWA AF to educate voters on the importance of the Ohio Supreme Court, a critical backstop to protecting reproductive freedom in our state.

  3. Support Black women. OWA Action Fund remains one of the only statewide community organizing hubs created and led by Black women. Donate today to keep our work grounded in grassroots, values-driven support.

OWA Action Fund Executive Director Rhiannon Carnes says, “We recognize the gravity of this moment as we are preparing ourselves for the impending Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision. After enduring almost five decades of continuous attacks to shame our right to total reproductive freedom, they are now trying to force us back nearly half a century ago. We know that the ultimate plan was to overturn Roe v. Wade, which is a precedent layer of protecting reproductive justice and bodily autonomy. But we are here to let them know that we have the power to defend ourselves, and we do not need permission from SCOTUS to fight for what is rightfully ours.”
