The flutter in my belly,

my palms sweaty, the jitter in my motions.

As I stand here with others,

not aware of how they will vote.

The endless tapping of my feet,

my nerves restless.

Fear creeping up,

fear seeping in.

Still I don’t trust a single politician,

who can be bought out by corporations.

I’ll still do my civic duty,

show up to the polls and cast my vote.

We are who save each other,

we are who save each other,

I chant to remember
